MISSION & VISION

Vision

Aviation sans Frontières International wishes to contribute to equal access for all to healthcare, education, food security, health infrastructure and to include everyone in the fight against poverty without any distinction for race, gender, language, religion, political orientation or any other opinion, nationality, social origin, or any other situation.

Mission

The mission of Aviation Sans Frontières International is to provide aeronautical expertise and resources to the humanitarian aid sector and sustainable development. Neutral, independent and not in competition with local stakeholders, ASF-International goes where others do not (or no longer go) to allow aid and development stakeholders to access isolated groups in need.

Funding

Aviation Sans Frontières International is essentially funded by the public through campaigns to raise awareness and appeals for donations. Grants are also received from institutional funders, including the European Commission Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection Office (ECHO) and the United Nations. Furthermore, there are also various partnerships and one-off contributions.

Neutrality and independence

Aviation Sans Frontières International is strictly neutral and independent with regard to the origin of the crises or troubles of the country in which it assists groups in need. However, this neutrality does not mean ignoring serious breaches of the basic rights of groups in these countries. In such cases, we have to decide whether its duty of confidentiality will damage the interest of the groups they are directly assisting.

Humanitarian aid and sustainable development

For Aviation Sans Frontières International, humanitarian aid means an appropriate response to needs clearly identified by sector professionals in collaboration with the groups affected. This includes offering the best cost-effectiveness ratio possible, supplying specific aid to as many as possible depending on the context, and optimising local resources. Our sustainable development approach leads us to manage local resources (natural, physical and human resources) to get the best for the long term well-being of the groups affected. Our management approach in turn leads to prevention of humanitarian crises such as those caused by climate change.
